Leaving Kyoto for Hiroshima: We were in Bullet Train Heaven.
That train station is so clean and organized.
Loads of school kids on and off the trains.
Once in Hiroshima, it was very clear they are getting ready for Obama's visit.
Police were everywhere. There are signs.
Glad we are not here when he is here. We would not get anywhere.
Hiroshima is a lovely town with street cars.
The A-Bomb Dome was damaged during the attack on August 6, 1945.
it remains here as a symbol for Hiroshima, conveying the horror of nuclear weapons and appealing for world peace. UNESCO World Heritage Site.
There are so many memorials throughout the Peace Memorial Park.
Beautiful tributes...
This memorial is about a little girl who survived the atomic bomb at age 2. 10 years later, she died of leukemia. The small buildings around the memorial are origami cranes that children all over the world send every year -- the story was that the girl, Sudako Sasaki, believed that if she could make 1,000 cranes, her wish of good health would come true.

Never forget. Never again. Pray for Peace.
